Acronymn
"VLC is an acronym that originally stood for "VideoLAN Client" when it was a part of the VideoLAN project. However, the meaning has evolved since VLC is now a fully functional, cross-platform media player and streaming server, developed by the VideoLAN project." [1] [2]
Move Subtitle Below Video
tools -> preferences -> show settings (all) -> video -> filters
- select "video cropping filter", which will add "croppadd" text
- -> croppadd -> pixesl to padd to bottom -> 76px or 100px

Auto Show Subtitles
tools -> preferences -> show settings (all) -> input / codecs -> subtitle track = 0
