The pre-commit hooks (black, isort, flake8, EOF/whitespace, no-CRLF)
found issues in the files this PR changed.

Install the hook once so it runs automatically on every commit:

    pip install pre-commit
    pre-commit install            # from the repo root

Generate sample pre-commit config:

    pre-commit sample-config > .pre-commit-config.yaml

Fix the current changes:

    pre-commit run                # checks staged files (auto-fixes
                                  # formatting), then re-stage & commit

Or fix everything this PR touched:

    pre-commit run --from-ref origin/<base-branch> --to-ref HEAD

Re-commit the changes the hooks made and push again.

pre-commit run --all-files
