vCSA (vCenter Server Appliance)

Appliance Web Interface is Gone

The vCSA is now managed through the VM's DCUI (Direct Console User Interface). VMware's standardizing their appliances on this simple interface, using F2 to get started, just as you would with the ESXi DCUI.

Update VCSA 6.0

How to update or patch vCenter 6 Appliance (VCSA) ? | Settlersoman - A settler in the SDDC world. - http://www.settlersoman.com/how-to-update-or-patch-vcenter-6-appliance-vcsa/

Initially you have to update by downloading the patch file. Once updated, you can update using the VAMI again!

  1. Download "VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-6.0.0.20000-3634791-patch-FP.iso"
  2. Connet ISO to VCSA 6.0 VM as "root" (not SSO account)
  3. Connect to shell/ssh
  4. Run the following command:
    software-packages install --iso --acceptEulas
    • nobody's password??
  5. Reboot VCSA:
    shutdown reboot -r updating

Now you can update with the GUI in the future with VAMI! [1]
