2) Start minecraft in offline mode and go to multiplayer menu.
3) Run the memory editor, add task javaw.exe
4) Search for "Player" - data type being a string
5) The last address it finds should be a wide string with the content "Player|". This is what you want to change. Keep the trailing | there. I didn't bother to check if you need to keep the string length as the same. For example change it to "newbie|". (Note: chances are very high that the string has to be exactly the same length as "Player" = 6 characters.)
6) And you're done. Join, play.
Works only in offline-mode (servers), so don't try to cheat public servers with this.

- A rival team was monopolizing the robotics lab, so I had a couple of hours to kill. Me and free time are always a dangerous combination. So, I set about writing a tool to compute the construction of spheres using blocks. There are several well-published patterns for making Lego spheres, but they only apply to Lego's unique aspect ratio. I have my eye on Minibrix, so I needed a more generic sphere building tool.

Spleef
Spleef is a competitive sport within Minecraft in which the goal is to be the last player standing. The name is a pun of the word grief.

Spleef usually takes place in an arena or stadium. In the stadium, there is a series of blocks that form a flat surface, usually several suspended blocks in the air. Two or more players in the stadium choose their positions on the slab of blocks, and after a countdown, begin the game.
The goal is to destroy blocks near the opponent to cause them to fall, while avoiding suffering that fate yourself. Creating blocks during the playing of Spleef is not usually allowed. The time Spleef matches take depends on the size of the stadium.
Spleef can be played individually or in teams.
